We offer an alternative to metal and plastic cabinets:
Fiberglass-reinforced polyester enclosures manufactured in a hot pressing process of SMC (Sheet Molding Compound).
The European market has long appreciated the reliability of easy-to-use cabinets and their advantages over metallic ones.
The safety and life span of the cabinets is our priority.
1.- OXIDATION: STOP CORROSION.
In aggressive environments such as tropical climates, high humidity settings, or areas with salty fog, the life span of the metal cabinet is short, while polyester cabinets last 30 years without modifying their mechanical qualities.
2.- EASY TO CUSTOMISE.
Drilling or cutting on a metal cabinet is a complex and dangerous endeavor, since it destroys its protection to corrosion. However, polyester makes it fast, simple and safe.
3.- REDUCED RISK OF ACCIDENTS.
With a metallic enclosure there is a risk of electric shock because of its conductive properties, however, the polyester cabinets are completely insulating. They hold up to 1500V DC, while properly shielded metallic and plastic enclosures may only protect up to 1000V DC.
Our fire-resistant FRP has passed through 960⁰C glow-wire tests, according to regulation IEC 60695-2-10. It is able suppress flame propagation and self-extinguish it; a characteristic not found on metal or plastic.
5.- ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY
Not only do our enclosures not cause any electromagnetic disturbances, they also prevent any other interference from affecting your equipment.
6.- UV PROTECTION + LOW THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY
Polyester is an excellent electrical insulator. Thanks to its UV resistance and polyester’s ability to dissipate heat throughout all its surfaces, our cabinets are prepared for use in solar and mining projects. However, an exposed metal cabinet may heat up to a point in which it disables the very equipment it’s trying to protect!
7.- HALOGEN FREE
Our raw material is halogen-free in its formulations. As a result, it offers a high resistance to fire propagation and eliminates the release of toxic or noxious gases as well as the formation of opaque fumes produced from the combustion of plastic enclosures.
8.- RESISTANCE TO CHEMICAL AGENTS
SMC features excellent mechanical properties thanks to its fiberglass composition: resistance to impact and torsion. The polymerization process during its molding allows it to resist at high temperatures without melting or dripping as well as giving it an excellent behavior against chemical agents. At service temperatures the product surface does not suffer damages and the loss of mechanical properties will be insignificant.
9.- RESISTANCE TO SALTWATER, MAKING IT PERFECT FOR COASTAL ZONES
Polyester features an excellent chemical resistance against the most common hazards, such as saltwater, oil, or gases. At normal temperatures, these chemical agents won’t do any damage to its surface and won’t threat its mechanic performance.
When comparing a polyester cabinet with a metallic one of the same size, we’ll observe that the weight of the former isn’t even a half of the weight of the latter. This means that a polyester enclosure will provide ease of assembly, reduced workplace accidents, and decreased transport costs.
11.- OUR BOXES AND CABINETS HAVE A SECOND LIFE
Both our raw material and our final product are easy to recycle, granting them a second life. Our SMC waste is sent to specialized companies to be ground, obtaining a dust that is of great use for concrete companies.
